Singlo Organic Green

The three ships raided in Boston Harbor on December 16, 1773, contained 340 chests of Chinese teas, including 60 half-chests of Singlo green tea.

Singlo originated in the Singlo (Sung-lo) Mountains of Anhui Province. It was a superior grade of tea that the East India Company needed to move out of its London warehouses before it spoiled.

It’s a shame that this tea was thrown to the fishes. It would have been one of the best cups of tea ever to pass a colonist’s lips – if they didn’t put boiling water on it!
